ooo... its been more than 1 month since i last blogged. have been very busy lately lar. school work, church stuff, council stuff and tutorials. oh man driving me crazy. oh well. So many things to be done in such a short amount of time. how to finish? haiz. wonder why jc has to be so stress. did i make the wrong decision? i hope not. well. quite a few things happened during this month, ttz why MIA for some time. stuff like council investiture, FOP, common tests and Young Methodist Leaders' Conference. Oh man.
FOP was great even though it happened a long time ago. haha. definitely felt God's presence there at the indoor stadium. =)
Council investiture. My 1st and the school's 1st. its no surprise that there were a few screw ups, but thankfully its over. haha. next investiture leave for the next batch to settle and i would say good luck to them. muahahaha. its tough job man. good job everyone, esp the invest comm.
wow. came back from YMLC like just a few days ago and i still can remember what happened there. kinda missed the place and company of friends and church mates. oh well. i would say i learnt quite alot from this. Love God and love your neighbours. wow. such powerful 6 words were these. oh well. it really made me think of how i have been treating some of my school mates. felt kinda guilty and have decided to try my best to follow these commandments. the 1st and 2nd commandments taught to us by Jesus himself. more than that. i also learnt of God's power in helping us to follow his guidance instead of the guidance of the FLESH. the flesh is meant to be dead. why do people keep following what the flesh tells them to? or rather why they keep falling into the trap of the devil? i myself am guilty of that too. maybe its SIN? oh well. Methodist Distinctives. isn't it cool? these 2 words? but somehow or another the sermon content linking these 2 words are heavy. find that its too much for me to take, esp after gone through a sermon before tt. at least i brought home something. the 4 "alls". it too made me ponder on why am i not sharing the gospel to everyone since one of the "alls" states that ALL MUST BE SAVED. our job is to share and save ppl. salvation is meant for everyone. by not sharing the good news, is tt considered selfish? i think so.
glad that our very own pastor in charge Rev Kow Shih Ming came over to speak about how to serve in full time ministry. now i realised how pastors became pastors. haha. the sermon was quite cool though. taught me many new stuffs. =)
there was this point in time when people were being slained during the conference. to me it was quite scary though coz this was the 1st time i'm witnessing such things happening. din know what was it all about at first until jonas and betty told me. at least i learnt something new. through all these things, there was a point in time when i felt distant from God, and that was when i was down with severe gastric at the 1st day. quite sad for me coz i couldn't play tt much games and i couldn't concentrate in worshipping God and to focus on him. too many other distractions as well. such as my holiday homework, exams that is coming up and sometimes during the sermon, the diamonds and the lights were kinda distracting. ok i wun look at the lights again. hahaha. oh well. i have been blessed during this conference, really wanna thank God for all that He did during the conference. really felt his presence with us. =) i also had a rather interesting group. all either 17 or 18, other than the mentors. Group 2! Jeremy, Angeline, Douglas (Peter Parker), Luke (PK), Aaron, Zhon Yun, Lydia (ah lian), Melissa, Beverly and Grace. great ppl. thanks for bearing with all my sharings and my "boasting". heehee. THE LIGHTS!!! MUAHAHAHA!! really enjoyed myself throughout this conference. it wouldn't be a success without the might work of God. a big round applause for the Lord our God who never fails us no matter what. *clap clap clap*
Conference Theme Song (lyrics and music by Pastor Barnabas Chong, Faith Methodist Church)
Who can it be, who walks against the grain,
stands out in the crowd, different from the rest?
Who can it be, who lives life on the edge,
stands out in the crowd, different from the rest?
Who can it be? Who can it be?
Who can it be, who talks about the rain,
prays for rain from heaven, revival in the land?
Who can it be, who gets down on his knees,
prays for rain from heaven, revival in the land?
Who can it be? Who can it be?
It's the people of God, called by His Name.
Living for Him, God's chosen generation.
(CHORUS)
With hands in the air, lifting up the Name of Jesus, the King.
With eyes fixed on Him, calling on the Name of the Lord.
With hearts set on fire, filled everyday with the spirit of God
Unwavering purpose, living our lives for the King.
Unwavering purpose, living our lives for the King.
